FEPE's Staff and Students celebrate on Jan 1, 2026, Haiti's Independence Day, with Soup Jamou, the super-nutritious medley that Slaves in French Saint-Domingue could only prepare and serve, never eat,
before winning their 12-years-long fight in 1803.

Saint-Domingue in Encylopedia Brittanica. 'In 1789 Saint-Domingue had an estimated population of 556,000, including roughly 500,000 enslaved Africans—a hundredfold increase over the previous century—32,000 European colonists, and 24,000 affranchis (free mulattoes [people of mixed African and European descent] or Blacks).'

You may imagine what great things are
to come from FEPE's Students and Staff
in 2026.

2026 is the 52nd-year Anniversary of Mme. Marie Marthe Balin Franck Paul's founding of College Canapé Vert in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. The
College has since graduated more than 22,000 with
above-High School educations. Its current enrollment is its highest since 2019, 517 students, aged 6 to 18. It's a bastion and oasis and  more proof of what Haitians can do if offered a modicum of opportunities.
