Sticking Up For Children's Partners in Haiti and New Orleans
again prove redoubtable, Autumn of 2025.


 

• The Foyer Espoir Pour les Enfants (FEPE) orphanage has moved from the Delmas district in Port-au-Prince to a country-side location in Northeast Haiti. The new rental building is 10 minutes' drive to a Beach on the Caribbean. Students are now enrolled in a Catholic School. 

Two you may remember are pictured below in photographs again by Jean-Baptiste Olivier. Olivier, entered FEPE as a child orphan in 2010. Now Olivier is chief director for FEPE in its new location.

• College Canapé Vert in that district of Port-au-Prince re-opened just three days after Hurricane Melissa hit Haiti as
a Category 1. 

Madame Marie Marthe Balin Franck Paul, Principal at CCV since she founded the College in 1974, reprorted a COVID-era high of 524 Students attending CCV last Thursday!

Also, you may remember, CCV remains the site of recording for Haitian TV and Websites many of Madame Franck Paul's 19 books! Including her biography of Toussaint L'Ouverture!

• Cayes Jacmel on Haiti's southern coast, Department Sud-Est, about 20 miles East of Jacmel, took direct brunt of Hurricane Melissa. Roads there remain underwater. Uprooted palm-trees still lie on houses.

Ladies of Cayes Jacmel who came together for learning to read and write under Madame Marie Yolene Désiral in 2024, onward into at least weekly Classes of Lekol Toupatou in 2025, have already rebounded. You may remember that these adult Students started a Business in latter 2024--Pwopté Toupatou

Well, Pwopte Toupatou and its entrepreneurs are on the march along Haiti's southern coast. They're cleaning up!

• The Kuumba Youth Academy of the Ashé Cultural Arts Center adds a great teacher and creator, Kelly Love Jones, for Guitar, Song-Writing and Voice.

SUFC is pleased to help with the broadcast of Lessons from Lekol Toupatou and many more of Madame Franck Paul's delightful and educational books in 2026.

Please see the tireless mainstay of Foyer Espoir Pour les Enfants, known as Marie Jo, or "Mamie Jo", too. Madame Marie Jose Poux founded the FEPE orphanage in November 2009 and accepted more than 20 other children after the Earthquake of January 2010.

FEPE and Marie-Jo are supported by many each year.
Patrick Anderson runs the New York City Marathon with FEPE as his beneficiary.

You might also enjoy Luis Pena's documentary, Grace and Mercy about Marie-Jo, her brother Ben Constant, and their efforts with FEPE and in a tent-city of tens of thousands displaced in Port-au-Prince during 2010.
